Energy Pyramids
There are specific types of energy being transferred throughout the bottom communities; in sandy bottoms the energy would start with are primary producers and end with tertiary consumers.
- Cyanobacteria, Diatoms, Dinoflagellates, and Phytoplankton.
- Lugworms, Peanut worms, Bacteria, Fungi, and Sea Cucumbers.
- Heart Urchins and flat streamlined fish.
- Lobe Finned Fishes, and small types of Chondrichthyes.
There are also types of organisms that fit into different sections in the energy pyramid in Rocky communities.
- Red Algae, Brown Algae, Green Algae, and Phytoplankton
- Zooplankton, Mussels, Snails, Clams, and Barnacles.
- Sea Urchins, Grazers, Anchovies, Crabs, and other Crustaceans
- Tuna and other Carnivorous Fishes
- Chondrichthyes and Dolphins.
